Each summer faculty and students from each of our high schools participate in this conference on the campus of St. Edward’s University. Over five days, the students:

- explore the sense of family and heritage we share in Holy Cross
- collaborate in service, making a physical contribution as well as
an emotional investment
- study leadership styles so that they can better fulfill their roles
- receive commissions as student leaders, and accept the responsibilities
that role entails.
In recent years participants from Midwestern and Eastern institutions
have joined us for the program and recreational activities
in the city and on campus. Career consultant Brother Jim Kell, a perennial favorite,
helps each individual understand how leadership qualities
like courage, daring, and generosity relate to both personality types and mission,
and how these qualities grow from a spiritual base.
Special opportunities each
year give students a greater understanding of the national
and international work of the Congregation of Holy Cross. During past years our
group has connected with Brothers from South America and Africa, members of the
CSC Hispanic Ministries, and Superior General Hugh Cleary,
CSC.
During
the final ceremony, which commissions students to go forth
and share the mission of Holy Cross, each individual receives
a pin emblazoned with Father Moreau’s words, educating hearts and
minds. Students go on to share our heritage via an electronic bulletin
board where they frequently post reflections and ideas and personal visits.
