Reflections on Mission
“It
was at my first Table meeting that I started to understand
the connectedness of Holy Cross Schools. I recognized immediately — family — and
had a feeling of being part of a larger whole. That feeling
has grown over the years by taking part in each mission seminar.
I have watched this feeling spread among the students as
they participate in the immersion projects and the leadership workshops.
The excitement and action is intoxicating, and I believe that our schools
truly represent family.”

“As important as mission is, it is not designed to be applied
like spray paint, covering all the nuances that fashion a
particular school into what it has become by its history.
There is a mutual formation that takes place between the
mission and the personality of the school. How does mission find unique
expression at the school? People. The people associated with the school — what
they believe and the intensity with which they believe it
and what they do and the integrity with which they do it — constitute
the primary ways in which the mission is expressed.”
